Black Christmas For US Indices In 2018
U.S. markets had the worst pre-holiday session in history, with the Nasdaq and Dow both losing about 3% each and the S&P500 going down by 2.64%.
This fall comes on top of more than three weeks of declines for U.S. indices – the sharpest since the 2008 resession.
Not even the so-called “Santa Rally” could save the markets from a combination of worries about Sino-U.S. tensions, higher U.S. interest rates and a waning effect from Trump’s tax cuts.
Will these events continue to have a negative effect on the US economy?
